Terms of service
The deal, in plain language.

Rayva is a marketplace. Home care agencies post open visits. Licensed caregivers see the pay up front and choose which to take. Rayva runs the matching, the check-in, and the money; it does not employ caregivers and does not provide care.
Caregivers keep the rate they see. Agencies pay the caregiver's rate plus Rayva's fee. Caregivers are paid through Stripe as independent contractors and receive a 1099-NEC at year end.
1. Who this is between
These terms are between you and Rayva, Inc. ("Rayva", "we"), Lincoln, Nebraska. They apply to the Rayva caregiver app, the agency web app at agencies.getrayva.com, and getrayva.com. By creating an account or accepting a visit you agree to them. If you're using Rayva for an agency, you confirm you're allowed to bind that agency.
2. Two kinds of accounts
Caregivers
- You must hold a current, unrestricted credential for the work you accept (CNA, HHA, LPN or RN) in the state of the visit, and you must be at least 18.
- We check licenses against state registries and re-check them on a schedule. A lapsed or restricted license pauses your ability to accept visits until it clears.
- Before your first visit you'll be asked to consent to a background check under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The report is ordered from Checkr; the FCRA notices, your rights and the adverse-action process are in the app under Legal & Privacy.
- You are an independent contractor, not a Rayva employee. You choose which visits to accept, when you work, and how far you'll travel. You pass on any visit at any time with no penalty and no acceptance score.
Agencies
- You must be a licensed home health, home care, hospice or similar provider in good standing in the states where you post visits. We verify this when you register and may re-verify.
- You remain the provider of record. Care plans, supervision, clinical judgement and compliance with your state's licensing rules stay with you. Rayva supplies staffing and tooling, not care.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you post: the care type, credential required, address, times, and any conditions in the home a caregiver should know about.
3. How a visit works
- An agency posts a visit with a rate. Rayva prices the offer a caregiver sees: the agency's rate for the paid time, plus mileage from the caregiver's home, plus any boost. That number is the caregiver's pay for the visit. It doesn't change after acceptance.
- Accepting a visit is a commitment to the agency. A caregiver may hand a visit back; the earlier the better, and the agency is told immediately so it can re-offer. Repeatedly giving back visits close to their start may limit future offers.
- Caregivers check in on arrival with one tap. The app asks whether to check in when the phone reaches the address, and records the phone's location at that tap so the agency can see the caregiver was there. Nobody is ever checked in automatically.
- A visit is complete when the caregiver marks it complete. Pay posts to the caregiver's balance then. Visit notes are shared with the agency once the visit is complete.
4. Money
Caregivers
- Rayva takes nothing from a caregiver's pay. The rate shown is the rate paid.
- Pay is held in your Rayva balance and paid out through Stripe to the bank account or debit card you connect. Instant payouts may carry Stripe's fee, which is shown before you confirm.
- You are responsible for your own taxes. Rayva issues a 1099-NEC when required. The app's tax estimates and mileage log are guidance, not advice.
Agencies
- You pay the caregiver's pay for each completed visit plus Rayva's platform fee, shown on the visit and on your statement. You're not charged for visits that aren't completed.
- Completed visits are charged weekly to the payment method on file. A declined charge pauses new postings until it clears. Monthly statements and a PDF are available in Billing.
- Disputes about a visit must be raised within 30 days of the statement. Tell us at hello@getrayva.com with the visit and what happened.
5. Patient information
Agencies share limited patient information with the caregiver who accepted a visit, only for that visit. Caregivers may use it only to deliver the visit, must not copy it out of the app, and must not share it. The app removes it from the device after the visit. Our HIPAA notice explains how we protect it; agencies and Rayva sign a business associate agreement.
6. Behaviour we won't allow
- Accepting visits you aren't credentialed for, or sending someone else to a visit you accepted.
- Checking in from anywhere other than the visit address, or marking a visit complete that didn't happen.
- Using Rayva to recruit caregivers or agencies off the platform for the same work, or to avoid the platform fee.
- Harassment, discrimination, or anything unlawful toward a patient, caregiver, agency or Rayva staff.
We may pause or close accounts that break these rules. We'll tell you why, and how to reply, unless the law prevents it.
7. Closing an account
Caregivers can delete their account in the app; we keep only what tax and payment law requires. Agencies can close their account in Settings; for 30 days you can change your mind and everything comes back, after which patient information is removed and financial records are kept as required.
8. The legal parts
- Availability. We aim for the service to be up all the time; it won't always be. We're not liable for a missed visit caused by an outage, but we'll tell agencies and caregivers as soon as we know.
- Liability. Rayva doesn't provide care and isn't liable for the care delivered. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
- Disputes. These terms are governed by Nebraska law.
- Changes. We'll email you before a change that affects your money or your data, with at least 14 days' notice. Continuing to use Rayva after that is agreement.
